‘Does Running Make You A Better IT Exec?’

When life (both professionally and personally) can sometimes get a bit too much, we all have our different ways of letting off steam and finding that focus, but there are many theories that the most effective leaders and CEO’s are marathon runners (non running CEO’s may say otherwise, if you want to share what that is we’d love to hear😉).
Natascha has been updating us on her running journey in our board meetings so I asked her to share her thoughts on; ‘Does Running Make You A Better IT Exec?’ and it doesn’t disappoint!
As a leading female CIO Natascha opens up and explains why she donned running trainers and the positive impact it’s had. 👟
“It all started with 2km!
In 2019, I was a CIO leading a very busy IT department as well as a member of the company’s Exec team. I loved the role, enjoyed working with the team and we had a good track record of delivering value. I had also won a few awards for my leadership and supported 8 females within the department in their successful shortlist/award for Women in Tech. So, in theory, all looked well.
However, things were not so rosy and if anyone had been able to access my thoughts, what they would have found was someone who was beginning to experience self-doubt, littered with to-do lists and an overwhelming feeling that I was letting work and my family down.”
And that’s all you get folks…… Natascha’s complete article is available for all our Community members here: https://lnkd.in/ejXdQNPT
