Senior IT Leaders Combating Climate Change

12 June @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Organisations and governments looking to combat climate change, are turning to tech for help. As the digital landscape continues to expand, so does the environmental impact of IT infrastructure and practices. While many organisations’ climate goals are lofty, enterprise technology leaders have not always succeeded at turning climate ambitions into reality. One of the biggest reasons is that hard facts and clear paths of action are scarce. Misconceptions and misinformation have clouded the picture of what senior IT leaders should do.

This panel aims to discuss innovative strategies, best practices, and initiatives that senior IT leaders can implement to drive sustainability within their organisations. By harnessing the power of technology and adopting sustainable IT practices, organisations can make significant contributions to global efforts to address climate change and build a more sustainable future.

Discussion Points:

  • Implementing energy-efficient technologies, optimising cloud workloads, and minimising carbon emissions (with consideration of end-user pressures)
  • The use of technology and analytics to cut emissions by reducing, replacing and reusing
  • Criteria for evaluating vendors and suppliers based on sustainability considerations
